Thomas University honors outstanding supporters at annual dinner

Thomas University held its annual Forbes Society Dinner honoring its donors, supporters and scholarship recipients on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Glen Arven Country Club in Thomasville. Three awards were presented in recognition of the recipients’ service to TU.

The Ambassadors’ Award was presented to Terry Rouse. This award is given to individuals in appreciation of exceptional volunteer commitment to Thomas University.  These individuals’ selfless contribution of their time and energy has been vital to the activities of the University.

Rouse is a Thomas University alumnus and a member of the Thomas University Board of Trustees. Rouse was instrumental in helping TU obtain a gift from the Wilo Foundation of Dortmund, Germany. It was the first time the Wilo Foundation made a gift to an organization in the United States. The gift helped fund Camp STEMtastic, TU’s summer camp for a select group of students nominated by their teachers.

Receiving the President’s Award was Nathaniel Abrams representing Abrams Mobile Document Destruction Service, Inc. This award is given to a corporation or foundation that consistently supports the Thomas University mission and that has consistently fostered the continued growth of all aspects of the University.

Abrams Mobile Document Destruction Service, Inc. has provided services to Thomas University as a way of significantly contributing to TU.

The W. Cameron Forbes Award was presented to Pete Thomas. Named in honor of one of TU’s founders, this award is given to an individual who displays a life-long commitment to education and to Thomas University.

Thomas is a former member of the Board of Trustees who has been making financial and other contributions to TU for more than 20 years. He’s encouraged students to attend TU and provided students with career consulting services.
