ACTU presents Musical Valentines Feb. 12

Arts for the Community at Thomas University (ACTU) will present a concert of “Musical Valentines” on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Trinity Anglican Church, 325 West Jackson St., Thomasville.

The program is part of ACTU’s Sundays at Four series and will feature performances by vocalists Ed Lyon, Hananel Jackson, Trey Cox, Lisa Mitchell and Karl Barton, flutist Lisa Gatherer, and pianist Jim Amend.

“I'm excited about this program because it will feature a few performers making their debut on our series,” said series coordinator Dr. Karl Barton.

This eclectic program will include works from the musicals “Showboat,” “Chicago” and “Hamilton” as well as songs from movies, a few Classical selections and a duet from the Muppets.

“We are always glad to be back at Trinity, and the sanctuary is so well-suited for live music that it is always a treat to perform there,” Barton said. “We are all happy to offer our Musical Valentines to the community.”

The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5 per person. A reception will follow the performance. For additional information, visit, call 229-227-6964 or email
