Thomasville Singers to present Christmas concert on Sunday

Arts for the Community at Thomas University (ACTU) will present the Thomasville Singers as part of the Sundays at Four series. The performance will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Thomasville Center for the Arts, located at 600 E. Washington St. in Thomasville.

The program will include a number of favorites such as “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” “I'll Be Home for Christmas,” “The Christmas Song” (“Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”) and seasonal music by Sergei Rachmaninoff, John Rutter, Rosephanye Powell and John Leavitt.

“There is some beautiful music being performed, and the singers have really devoted themselves to this performance,” Dr. Karl Barton, series coordinator, said. “I encourage everyone to come out Sunday to enjoy the fruits of their labor.”

The Thomasville Singers is a community chorus at Thomas University under the direction of Nicole Davis. This program will also feature soprano soloist Rebecca Fadell, who was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has performed with the University of Minnesota Opera Theatre, the Minnesota Opera, and the Florida State Opera. She is currently a resident of Thomasville, Music Worship Leader at Trinity Anglican Church and a faculty member at Thomas University.

“I have so enjoyed the opportunity to work with these talented musicians from our community,” Davis said. “Those who attend our concert can expect a wide variety of holiday music to help ring in the season. Please come out to join us. We would love to see you there.”

The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5. For additional information call 229-227-6964 or e-mail
