Next TU Talk to cover ‘Cultural Perceptions of Elder Abuse’

One of the major social problems of world health is elder abuse. As the U.S. becomes more diverse, its citizens need to be more culturally aware and sensitive to the cultural norms that impact elder abuse.

Dr. Steve DePaola, Associate Professor of Psychology, will tackle this subject during the next TU Talk, “Cultural Perceptions of Elder Abuse,” at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, in the Flowers Foods Executive Classroom inside Smith-Bonvillian Hall on TU’s Forbes Campus.

This TU Talk will focus on the impact expectations have on the perception and causes of elder abuse in different cultures.

Hosted by the TU Library, TU Talks are free and open to the public. For more information, call 229-227-6959.
