Thomas University names new VPFA

In one of his first actions as Thomas University’s new president, Dr. Andy Sheppard announced that Randy Livingston has been selected as TU’s new Vice President for Finance and Administration. Livingston will assume the role on July 18. In this position Livingston will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the financial resources of the university.

Livingston comes to TU with 15 years of experience in higher education finance and administration and 25 years in corporate accounting. Before joining TU, he served as the Vice President for Financial Planning at Florida Institute of Technology and as Vice President for Financial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer at Clearwater Christian College.

“Randy has a wealth of experience serving as a CFO,” said Dr. Andy Sheppard, TU President. “He inspires confidence in financial matters and is a great addition to the TU community.”

Livingston has served on the board of directors for both the Florida Independent Colleges & Universities Risk Management Association and the Independent Colleges and Universities Benefits Association. Before entering higher education, he served in various leadership roles at American Electric Power Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, for 25 years.

Livingston is already familiar with private colleges like TU.

“I spent nearly 13 years at a school of similar size and enjoyed very much the extent of the involvement that goes with the position,” Livingston said. “I find TU attractive on many fronts – its international reach, its commitment to the students in its geographic region, the pleasant appeal and maintenance of the campus, and the evident competency and professionalism of those I have encountered among the university family.”
