Graduating TU Social Work students honored at banquet

Thomas University graduating Social Work majors were honored at a banquet held Tuesday, May 3, at the Plaza in Thomasville, Georgia. Honorees include (from left) Beryl Blake of Thomasville, Georgia; Kami Orton of Tallahassee, Florida; Laura Kelly of Tallahassee, Florida; Treva Southern-Merlau of Tallahassee, Florida; Cheryl French of Tallahassee, Florida; Danielle Whitfield of Tallahassee, Florida; Amber Tribue of Tallahassee, Florida; Kristel Avilus of Tallahassee, Florida; Laura Balkcom of Tallahassee, Florida; Felton Ivey of Thomasville, Georgia; Liz Graham of Tallahassee, Florida; Wanda Lovejoy of Thomasville, Georgia; and Talisha Patterson of Albany, Georgia. Not pictured is Alejandro Segarra of Alachua, Florida. Blake, Orton, Southern-Merlau, French, Whitfield, Avilus, Balkcom, Ivey, Graham, Patterson and Segarra were also inducted into the Omicron Tau chapter of Phi Alpha national honor society for Social Work students during the banquet. Members must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a GPA of at least 3.25 in all Social Work classes.
