Tallahassee TU Social Work students hold event for teen parents

On Saturday, April 16, the Tallahassee graduating seniors of Thomas University’s Division of Social Work held a resource fair and family day aimed at raising awareness of teen parents in Leon County.  The fair, held at Cascades Park, featured several local agencies and businesses. Social work senior Amber Tribue uses bubbles to liven up the cloudy morning for families at the teen parent resource fair.

As part of their community project, the senior class also drafted a resource booklet in English and Spanish that will be distributed to local agencies.  The booklet contains references for agencies providing services to teenage parents in Leon County.  In addition, extra items were donated to local agencies assisting teen parents. TU seniors Amber Tribue, Laura Balkcom, and Kristel Avilus show some of the teen parent resource booklets and gift bags.
