TU Financial Aid Night to cover applying for scholarships

Thomas University’s Office of Financial Aid invites all high school juniors and seniors, their parents and any other prospective college students to attend Financial Aid Night beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the Campus Center on TU’s Main Campus.

“November is National Scholarship Month, and TU would like to increase scholarship awareness,” said Chrissy Gass, Director of Financial Aid at TU. “Thousands of dollars in scholarships go unapplied for every year. Students think the scholarship application process is daunting, and we want them to see how easy it can be.  Additionally, the student loan debt crisis has gained national attention and scholarships can help reduce borrowing for school.”

The event is open to those interested in attending any college or university, not just TU. Attendees will learn the intricacies of how to apply for scholarships along with some information about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

During Financial Aid Night, guests will also be eligible to win several door prizes. The top prize will be a $1,000 scholarship to TU.

The TU Office of Financial Aid plans to have other events covering other topics relating to financial aid in the future.
