Chili cooks take top honors at annual TU event

Thomas University’s annual Homecoming Chili Cook-off drew professional chefs and home cooks alike as they battled to see who had the best dish on Thursday evening at TU’s Magnolia Campus. TU alumnus Jim Ellis (left) took the prize for the Judges’ Choice for his chili. TU alumna Penny Gaskins (right) won the People’s Choice Award. Taking home the top prize for the Most Unique Chili was TU faculty member Debra Gresham (not pictured) for her curry-flavored dish. TU’s Homecoming festivities continue Friday, Oct.30, with the Alumni Awards Dinner, and Saturday, Oct. 31, with a Trunk-or-Treat on Magnolia Campus followed by the first game of the season for the Women’s Basketball Team in the gymnasium.
