ACTU presents Chamber Music Sunday

Arts for the Community at Thomas University (ACTU) presents a chamber music concert for soprano, flute, cello, harpsichord and piano as part of the Sundays at Four season on Sunday, Oct.11, at 4 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, located at 325 W. Jackson Street. The concert will feature soprano Rebecca Fadell, flutist Karl Barton, cellist Boyan Bonev and pianist Mimi Noda.

Rebecca Fadell is a mezzo-soprano born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has performed with the University of Minnesota Opera Theatre, the Minnesota Opera and the Florida State Opera. She is currently a resident of Thomasville, music Worship Leader at Trinity Anglican Church and a faculty member at Thomas University.

Boyan Bonev is a native of Bulgaria. He holds Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the National Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Bonev taught cello and double bass at Albany State University and Darton College. He is currently a resident of Tallahassee and is an active chamber and orchestral musician throughout the region.

Mimi Noda attended Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo and earned a bachelor’s degree in piano solo performance. At the University of Georgia’s School of Music, she graduated with a master’s degree in piano performance, chamber music and accompanying. Noda completed a doctorate degree from Florida State University. She is currently professor of piano at Albany State University.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to perform with these other wonderful musicians, and the music we will be performing represents some of my favorite works,” stated Dr. Karl Barton, series coordinator. “I encourage everyone to come and experience the concert with the excellent acoustics in the sanctuary.”

The program will include works by Bach, Schubert, Philippe Gaubert and others. The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5. A reception will follow the performance. For additional information, e-mail or call 229-227-6964.​
