TU launches GiveCampus online scholarship fundraiser

Thomas University today launched its first Give Campus campaign to raise funds for an endowed scholarship in honor of Professor Emeritus Jim Hodges, who was a TU faculty member for 30 years before retiring this spring.

“We are excited about this new on-line giving platform, GiveCampus,” said Dr. Grady Enlow, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “Our team evaluated a number of possibilities and selected GiveCampus for its ease of use, flexibility, and interaction with social media.”

For three decades Professor Jim Hodges played a pivotal role preparing Thomas University’s students. As an English professor, he helped them hone their writing skills. Hodges’ dedication to Thomas University went far beyond just the students in his classroom. He also mentored new faculty members and opened the doors for TU to step into the realm of online learning.

“Professor Hodges’ greatest contribution was his dedication to Thomas University’s students,” said Dr. Ann Landis, Executive Vice President and Provost. “He was always an excellent teacher and always asked his students to aim for excellence as well.”

The Jim Hodges Endowed Scholarship will provide financial assistance to TU students who are pursuing degrees in the Humanities. To view the TU campaign, visit www.givecampus.com.
