Thomas University’s scholarship fundraiser to feature Parisian flair
Inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s love of Paris, Thomas University’s “Toast for Scholarships the Hemingway” event will feature a four-course French dinner followed by full casino gaming and a DJ spinning dance favorites. All proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships at Thomas University.
The decadent event is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, on Thomas University’s Magnolia Campus, 1550 Magnolia Street, Thomasville. The High Rollers’ Dinner, which is available only to silver level sponsors and up, will begin at 6 p.m. The French dinner will include courses paired with wine and serenading by a string trio.
The Casino Night gaming event will begin at 8 p.m. in the TU Gymnasium with gaming tables where guests can win big in play money and test their luck with the raffle while enjoying gourmet hors d’oeuvres and dance music.
This marks the fourth annual Casino Night event. The previous Casino Night events were held in Cairo. This year Casino Night will also include the High Rollers’ Dinner, which will be similar to TU’s previous Dining for Education event.
“The event was so successful in Cairo that the committee recommended bringing it to the Thomas University campus,” said Dr. Grady Enlow, TU Vice President for Advancement. “This will give participants from other areas the opportunity to visit our Magnolia Campus and enjoy such an outstanding event while raising money for scholarships.”
Sponsorships are available ranging from the $250 level to the $5,000 level. Silver level sponsors ($500) and up will receive tickets to the High Rollers’ Dinner. Other benefits vary according to sponsorship level. Individual tickets to Casino Night gaming only are $35 each and include $1,000 in play money, one raffle ticket and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. Sponsorships are due by July 31. RSVPs for individual tickets to Casino Night are due by Aug. 15.
