During halftime of the Thomas University Men’s Basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 10, a group representing the Magnolia High School Alumni Association presented a check to Dr. Gary Bonvillian, President of Thomas University, to go toward scholarships at Thomas University.

“The Magnolia High School Alumni Association is striving to provide education opportunities and enhancement in the quality of life for Thomas Countians,” said Roger Walker, President of the Magnolia Alumni Association.  “We are most interested in conducting needs assessments and exploring different methodologies in helping to fill voids in service delivery systems.”

TU’s relationship with the Magnolia High School alumni began in 2011 when TU purchased the property on which the high school stood. Now that property, including the fully renovated gymnasium and partially renovated Student Life Center, is TU’s Magnolia Campus.

“I am pleased that we have been able to work with the Magnolia High School Alumni Association since acquiring the Magnolia Campus,” Bonvillian said. “I anticipate this wonderful gesture on the part of the Association is only the beginning of a long working relationship.”
