Science Café speaker talks about surfactants and their role in lung health

Dr. Suzanne Farver Lukjan, a Troy University faculty member, uses black pepper and dish detergent to explain how surface tension works and the role of surfactants in the lung during a Science Café session held Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Thomas University. Lukjan’s research into surfactants may help develop drugs that could help premature infants.
