TU to hold part-time career fair on Tuesday

The Career Center at Thomas University will hold a career fair for those interested in part-time jobs 9:30 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the lobby of Smith-Bonvillian Hall on TU’s Main Campus.

Participating companies looking for employees at the fair will include Microf, Senior Life, Rescare, New Hire Solutions, Avon and SBZ Services. Members of the community are welcome to attend.

For those who need assistance with preparing a résumé, the Career Center is available. Walk-in hours are 5-9 p.m. Mondays, 2-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Assistance is also available through Skype video calls.

“It seems that many people settle for remedial jobs that are below their capabilities simply because they lack the right tools and training to help lead them to their ideal job,” said Sharon Marie Davis, TU career counselor in charge of seminars. “That’s what we are trying to do here at the Thomas University Career Center – offer those services that many people do not even know exist. Our goal for the surrounding communities as well as for our students and graduates is to help them so they can help us get the word out about all of the services the TU Career Center has to offer.”
