Thomas University holds safety training for faculty and staff

Maj. Shane Harris of the Thomasville Police Department talks about how to deal with an active shooter during Thomas University’s safety training workshop for faculty and staff members on Friday, Sept. 26. During the morning of training, speakers from the Thomasville Police Department and the Thomasville Fire Department gave pointers on how to deal with specific situations. The workshop was coordinated by TU’s Safety and Security Committee, whose members also explained TU’s specific protocols for different situations and reviewed its emergency procedures handbook.
