Moultrie Technical College and Thomas University have now made it easier for students to earn bachelor’s degrees in Business. On April 28 administrators from Moultrie Tech and TU signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum of Understanding is an agreement between the two schools for classes at Moultrie Tech to count toward the corresponding Business degree programs at Thomas University.

“Thomas University works as a partner with the two-year colleges near us to create a well-educated workforce in our region,” said Dr. Ann Landis, TU Executive Vice President and Provost. “We are pleased to be the first university since Moultrie Tech has become SACS-accredited to offer MTC graduates a seamless transition to earning a bachelor’s degree.  This agreement will open many doors for students interested in business management, marketing, and accounting.”

Jim Glass, Acting President of Moultrie Tech, said, “Moultrie Technical College is committed to providing as many educational opportunities as possible for our students and we are excited to begin this relationship with Thomas University.  The cooperative agreement will allow our Marketing and Accounting graduates to seamlessly transition to an advanced degree while remaining close to home.  I want to thank Thomas University for this opportunity and for recognizing the quality of our associate degree programs.”

Under the agreement, Moultrie Tech students who earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Marketing Management can transition into the Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Management at Thomas University. Also, Moultrie Tech students who earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting can transition into TU’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting program.

“Moultrie Tech is excited to send our business degree graduates to the next level through this agreement with Thomas University,” said Rebecca Clark, Marketing Instructor at Moultrie Tech. “By accepting our classes, Thomas University is helping to provide our graduates with a smooth transition into the next level of education while saving them both time and money.”

Ann Marie Emmons, Chair of the Division of Business at Thomas University, said, “Moultrie Technical College business graduates are outstanding students who are well-prepared to pursue bachelor’s degrees. We’re delighted to have them further their education at Thomas University and prepare to become the business leaders of tomorrow.”
