Thomasville Singers to perform Sunday
Arts for the Community at Thomas University presents the Thomasville Singers on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. in the Flowers Foods Executive Classroom of Smith-Bonvillian Hall on the Thomas University Main Campus. The program is entitled "Songs of the Season" and will be under the direction of Raymond Hughes with soprano soloist Rebecca Fadell and pianist Jim Amend.
“The group really sounds wonderful, and the new auditorium works very well for this kind of program,” said Raymond Hughes, Director of the Thomasville Singers.
In addition to a variety of standard seasonal selections, the program will include the pieces “African Noel,” “Hannukah Traditions,” as well as “Jazzy Old St. Nicholas” and a wonderful set of “Variations on Jingle Bells.”
“We are fortunate to have a vocalist like Rebecca Fadell in our midst, and I am excited to have percussionist Thomas Streets joining us for this program,” Hughes said. “This concert will have a little something for everyone, and I hope that the community will come out to show their support for Thomasville’s own community chorus.”
The concert is free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $5 per person. A reception will follow the performance. For additional information, visit www.thomasu.edu/actu, call (229) 227-6964 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
