ACTU to present prize-winning violinist on Nov. 15
Arts for the Community at Thomas University presents prize-winning violinist Minyoung Cho with pianist Eunmi Lee on Friday, Nov. 15, as part of the Fridays at Noon series in the Balfour Chapel on the Main Campus of Thomas University. Friday’s program will include works by Schubert, Suk and Mendelssohn.
Dr. Cho made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2012 as winner of the American Fine Arts Festival. She regularly performs throughout the region and world as a soloist and orchestral musician.
Cho, a native of Seoul, South Korea, began to play the violin at the age of 10. She attended Dankook University and then moved to the United States. She earned master’s and doctoral degrees at Florida State University.
“Minyoung performed the solo violin part with us when we performed Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 last month,” said Karl Barton, series coordinator, “and I am excited to be able to feature her in a solo recital in the beautiful, intimate setting of the Balfour Chapel.”
The concert is free and open to the public. A complimentary luncheon will follow the performance. For additional information, visit thomasu.edu/actu or call (229) 227-6964.
