SCeNE to hold social media workshop in Valdosta

 On Wednesday, Aug. 21, Thomas University’s SCeNE will host the workshop “How to Use Social Media to Promote your Organization” from 10 to noon at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, 527 N. Patterson St. Valdosta.  This event is free to SCeNE members or $25 for non-members.

 The Southern Center for Nonprofit Excellence (SCeNE) provides high-value professional development and networking opportunities and other resources for the Southwest Georgia nonprofit community. The Center directs its offerings at the intersection of community needs and the distinctive and substantial knowledge base of recognized leaders in the field of philanthropy.

The presenter will be John Kiminas, owner of sitedoodle.com, which espouses the belief that all businesses should have access to fair, efficient and easy-to-use online resources as a part of a well-rounded marketing plan. Adapting to and conquering the modern world’s ever-changing technology, he has created content management systems (CMS), online marketing, and social media for his clients.

In 1987 at the age of 18, Kiminas started his first business, a screen printing company, which he owned and operated for four years. Kiminas attended Towson State University in Maryland, studying advertising, marketing and finances. In 1992 he moved to South Florida, where he worked for several major advertising firms as a Multimedia Designer, IT Specialist, and Director of Technology. Kiminas established his first full-service multimedia studio, Dream Out Loud, in 1994 attracting such clients as IBM and Motorola.
