Financial Aid Specialist 

Thomas University seeks a Financial Aid Specialist who performs customer service job duties and assists with administrative tasks in the Office of Financial Aid. Primary duties include assisting students with the financial aid process, providing direct loan counseling, processing financial aid awards and completing other financial aid documents. The Financial Aid Specialist assists with the overall management of financial aid programs including federal and state grants, loans, and other institutional aid. An associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and five years related work experience required; higher education student services experience preferred. 

Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel; demonstrate the ability to carefully maintain paper and electronic records using a database software system; possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong customer service skills; and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs

Thomas University is seeking an Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs to provide experienced leadership in a collaborative educational environment. Regionally-accredited, Thomas University offers graduate and undergraduate degrees with a strong foundation in the liberal arts. Our mission is to foster students’ personal transformation and professional readiness for the demands of a rapidly changing and complex world. Educational technology is integral to Thomas University’s engaged campus-based and online instruction.

This is a 12-month administrative appointment with faculty rank commensurate with experience. Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Provost, the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs provides leadership for curriculum, instruction, academic program assessment, and program management for eight academic divisions, the Library, Academic Technology, Institutional Assessment, Learning Support, and Disabilities Services. Key responsibilities include: 

• Supervising planning, organization, implementation, administration, assessment and revision of the curriculum and instructional and academic support services of Academic Affairs to ensure program rigor and student learning.
• Assisting faculty in developing and implementing instructional strategies that utilize current best practices in learning theory through the range of delivery models.
• Coordinating the processes for administrative review of program learning outcomes for all academic programs, including General Education outcomes.
• Overseeing course rotation and class semester schedules that ensure efficient use of faculty resources and students’ timely progression through the Core Curriculum and programs of study for degrees, minors, and certificate programs.
• Coordinating and supervising all dual-enrollment programs for high school students.
• Coordinating development, maintenance, and implementation of articulation agreements with two-year institutions for students’ seamless transfer into the university’s associate and bachelor’s degree program.

The Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs is expected to serve as a leader on faculty and university committees, lead and pursue professional development, actively participate in community partnerships, and collaborate on program expansion opportunities.

Sports Information Director

Thomas University, a member of the NAIA, located in Thomasville, Georgia, is seeking applicants for the position of Sports Information Director.

Job Description:
The sports information director will report to the Athletic Director and will administer the publicity of all 13 of Thomas’ sports teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing press releases, designing publications and pre/in/post-game graphics, along with compiling statistics and records for dissemination to all internal and external constituencies, including, but not limited to, the media, community and opposing teams. The sports information director will also be responsible for the maintenance of the athletic department's website and social media platforms. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:
The applicant should possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, experience with side-arm or other web page administration system, as well as familiarity with DakStats and/or Stat Crew in-game statistical programs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Mac and PC computers, along with Adobe Creative Suite. Fluency in multiple social media platforms. Experience with Video and photo editing is preferred. Flexible schedule in order to work weekends and nights is required.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, sport management or a related field

Experience:
1-2 years’ experience within a collegiate or professional communications/sports information/multimedia setting.

Compensation:

University Registrar

Thomas University is seeking a University Registrar who serves as an academic leader within a vibrant and collaborative educational environment providing professional readiness with a strong liberal arts foundation that fosters students’ personal transformation (www.thomasu.edu).  Primary duties include upholding academic policies of the institution and recommending new policies according to best practices; maintaining current and accurate programs of study/degree requirements in the student records system; overseeing student academic progress in undergraduate and graduate programs; maintaining and securing academic record; overseeing accurate data and reporting; serving as Primary Designated School Official for certifying non-immigrant students through SEVIS; and directing the staff and all functions of the Office of the Registrar. 

A master’s degree is required, plus a minimum of three years of experience as an academic registrar or assistant registrar.  Prior experience with integrated records systems required; experience using Comprehensive Academic Management Systems (CAMS) preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to a collegial and collaborative administrative leadership style, have proven ability to think strategically, prioritize effectively and act decisively, and possess strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of current records, registration, and enrollment policies and trends, as well as laws, regulations and reporting requirements relating to registrar functions.

Additionally, a strong background in the effective use of technology to improve systems and delivery of services and experience implementing academic policy in collaboration with a variety of campus constituencies are needed. The University Registrar must have the ability to evaluate and assess systems, facilitate change processes, and possess a vision for strengthening service through the integration of best practices and ongoing investment in staff development.

 Database Administrator

Thomas University, IT Services, is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to support enterprise software, organizational databases, reporting requirements and users.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide application support for enterprise software.
  • Develop, test, and document programs and reports based on specifications provided by the user or project team.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex tables and data files.
  • Mining data and developing reports to provide users information.
  • Develop custom reports using Crystal Reports or other approved software.
  • Considerable skill in utilizing end-user software tools such as Excel, Access and SQL to analyze or generate reports.
  • Program/system modifications, enhancements, and updates as required by the system vendor(s), or per customer request. 
  • Manage multiple project assignments and tasks concurrently.

Position for Webmaster

Thomas University seeks a Webmaster for a 30-hour per week Exempt staff position.  The Webmaster is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and improving the University Website as a primary vehicle for marketing and providing information to various audiences and also uses approved social media sites to extend the reach of information.  Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree and experience in a higher education context preferred.  Required minimum of three years of experience maintaining website content and functionality required, including developing, writing, and editing content, ensuring adherence to website style guidelines; and monitoring and analyzing site traffic; experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Drupal, with CSS-based table-less page layouts, and strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript.  Excellent writing, organizational, communication, project management, and interpersonal skills required.
