Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Thomas University seeks a Vice President for Institutional Advancement to continue the highly successful work carried out over the past eight years in fund-raising, alumni development, communications and university public relations. During this period the university has more than doubled its assets, enrollment, and programmable property holdings, completed its first successful campaign and launched a rapidly growing academic program in the People’s Republic of China. This position is a member of the Senior Administrative Team and reports directly to the President.

Thomas University embraces its liberal arts roots and heritage which date back to the school’s founding in 1950. Today, the university boasts of a comprehensive portfolio of academic programs in the professions and liberal arts.

Thomas University is located in Thomasville, Georgia, a small, vibrant community noted for its unique shops, wonderful restaurants, quality health care and historic region. The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is responsible for all functions related to university fund-raising, the office of alumni affairs and the office of communications. In keeping with Thomas University’s reputation and success for operating lean functions, Institutional Advancement currently has six staff members.

The position requires substantive experience in fund-raising, preferably in higher education. A baccalaureate degree is required with preference for candidates holding an advanced degree.

Library Administrative and Technical Assistant

Thomas University is seeking applicants for an immediate opening for a full-time Library Administrative and Technical Assistant.  Primary responsibilities include overseeing front desk duties; circulation tasks; answering information and directional questions; answering Help Desk Technical Support phone line; assisting with computer labs; and assisting with community and campus outreach.  The applicant must have excellent technical, written and oral communication skills; experience utilizing educational database and learning management systems; strong customer service skills; and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.  Associates degree or higher and library experience preferred.  Availability to work some evening and/or weekend hours required.

Student Life and Athletics Coordinator

Coordinates and administers University-wide co-curriculum events, including the forecasting, planning, developing, promoting, and evaluation of programs and services that are focused on providing a diverse student body with opportunities for personal growth and leadership development. Provides leadership in relation to all student activities, clubs, and organizations. Coordinates the development and production of informational materials pertaining to student activities including the University student activities/college event calendar, student news magazine, promotional brochures, and press releases. Researches and implements emerging technologies; creates and manages the University internal communication system, as it relates to Student Life, as well as social media outlets, to promote student activities, programs, and services. Must have skills in Photo Shop and PowerPoint. Will work closely with the Assistant Director of Housing with regards to all matters of Residence Life, as needed.

Assists the coaches and athletics staff with scheduling, promotions, and photo work for the website, as well as other various administrative duties.

Thomas University China Programs

Faculty Positions in Nursing

Thomas China Programs is seeking faculty to teach in our innovative RN-BSN programs in China. Full-time, part-time, and visiting professor applicants are invited to apply for appointments of a semester or longer.

Thomas University holds approval by the Chinese Central Government to deliver a cooperative program for students at the following Chinese partner universities to earn TU’s RN-BSN in China: Wenzhou Medical College (Zhejiang Province), Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Jiangxi Province), and Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).

Faculty will teach one or more of the following eight-week Thomas University RN-BSN courses at TU’s Chinese partner universities:
