Program Coordinator - Defense Acquisition University

Position Overview:  The Program Coordinator will collaborate with Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts to develop online course materials for TU’s DAU offerings. 

 Responsibilities:

  •  Determine, in conjunction with administration, which DAU equivalency courses to offer.
  • Assign and supervise Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts developing DAU courses for TU.
  • Validate final course designs to ensure they are logical and instructionally sound, and submit course material for DAU certification.
  • Oversee deployment of completed DAU coursework

 Reports To:  Vice President of Enrollment Management

 Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Sports Information Director (SID)

Position Overview:   The sports information director will report to the Athletic Director and will administer the publicity of  all 13 of Thomas’ sports teams.

 Responsibilities:

  •  Maintenance of the athletic department’s website, video streaming and social media platforms
  • Writing and distributing press releases or other sports information documents for dissemination to all internal and external constituencies, including, but not limited to, the media, NAIA, The Sun Conference, internal and external community or opposing teams
  • Management of Night Hawk Television
  • Designing department publications, promotional materials and pre/in/post-game graphics

Instructional Designer

Position Overview:   The instructional Designer will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Thomas University’s Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Program Coordinator to develop online course materials for TU’s DAU offerings.  

Responsibilities:

  •  Assist Subject Matter Experts in developing DAU courses for TU.
  •  Ensure working copies of the course material and the pre-defined primary folder structures are prepared for SMEs.
  • Perform aesthetic enhancements to SME developed coursework.

VA Work Study Position Description

Position Overview:  The VA Work Study will provide assistance to the Thomas University Veterans Services and Career Transition Center. Candidates must have thorough communication and listening skills, work ethic, and genuine desire to assist stakeholders with acquiring the services and support offered through the center. Responsibilities:

1. Assist with administrative tasks associated with recruiting and retention of undergraduate and graduate Veteran students into TU degree programs

Position Overview:  This position assists the Chief Academic Officer and the Vice President of Enrollment Management with the administrative functions of their respective areas.

Responsibilities:

Academic Support

  1. Responsible for collecting syllabi from all faculty each semester, preparing archives, and distributing information as requested by Academic Affairs administration members.
  2. Responsible for compiling minutes for Academic Council, Operational Team, Deans Council, and Graduate Council and for tracking all academic policy changes.
  3. Serves the Academic Affairs administration by creating specific reports and assignments.
  4. Coordinates scheduling and appointments for the Academic Affairs administration team.
  5. Coordinates responsibilities for and supervises Academic Affairs student workers.
  6. Responsible for submitting academic job advertisements to Human Resources.

 Enrollment Support

Responsible for supporting enrollment administrative efforts including:

  1. Review and process for approval all invoices submitted related to enrollment, marketing and advertising.
  2. Support recruiting efforts including assistance with hard copy mailings to prospective students and applicants.
  3. Serve as second line support for email and text automated communication flow.

Admissions Representative

Non-Exempt

Position Overview:
Reports to the Director of Admission. Is primarily responsible for participating in meaningful recruitment travel and events as well as successfully managing an applicant pool with the main objective of converting prospective students to applicants and converting applicants to enrolled students.

Responsibilities:

1. Plans, schedules and participates in relevant recruitment events. Works with Director of Admissions to review travel plans.

2. Participates in long and short range travel as required. Completes post travel/event reports.

3. Gives large and small group presentations while speaking informatively and enthusiastically on behalf of the college and its academic programs.

4. Develops and maintains close working relationships with all organizational contacts including school counselors, educators, police chiefs, nursing administrators, etc.

5. Serves as liaison between admission and academic departments by maintaining contact with division chairs as assigned programmatically and assists with weekly reports to division chairs on current applicant base.

6. Maintains timely communication and enrollment counseling to prospective students and applicants.

7. Manages applicant files and maintains persistent regular contact with applicants via phone, email and postal mail.

8. Follows enrollment processes for student file completion and conversion as stated and meets the demands of said processes. This process is not complete until the applicant is registered for classes.

9. Provides an informative and welcoming environment for prospective students and their families during a campus visit, campus tour or university event. Assists with group tours.

10. Organizes and inputs communication with prospective students, parents, and TU alumnae in the CAMS database.

11. Assists with placement exams both on campus and at remote locations.

12. Represents Thomas University in a positive, non-biased, non-offensive manner.

Medical Laboratory Science Program Director 

The Division of Science at Thomas University invites applications for a full-time, campus-based, 12month faculty appointment with administrative responsibility as the Medical Laboratory Science Program Director over the university’s NAACLS-accredited Traditional MLS and fully-online 2+2 MLS bachelor’s programs. Applicants must have:

  • a doctorate or be enrolled in a doctoral program;
  • ASCP certification as an MLS generalist;
  • a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory setting;
  • a minimum of 3 years teaching Medical Laboratory Science;
  • a master’s in MLS preferred;
  • academic leadership experience preferred. 


The candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include lecture and lab components in Medical Laboratory Science areas to be determined based on the applicant’s expertise. Proven excellence in teaching and in the use of instructional/online technology and its pedagogy is required. Responsibilities as Program Director include serving as the primary liaison to the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences, assisting the Division Chair in overseeing MLS curriculum, instruction, and scheduling of MLS courses, preparing and submitting accreditation documentation, ensuring MLS Program Evaluation, and overseeing the MLS Academic Advisor and Clinical Coordinator.

Thomas University China Programs

Faculty Positions in Nursing

Thomas China Programs is seeking faculty to teach in our innovative RN-BSN programs in China. Full-time, part-time, and visiting professor applicants are invited to apply for appointments of a semester or longer.

Thomas University holds approval by the Chinese Central Government to deliver a cooperative program for students at the following Chinese partner universities to earn TU's RN-BSN in China: Wenzhou Medical College (Zhejiang Province), Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Jiangxi Province), and Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).

Thomas University China Programs is seeking faculty to teach in our innovative Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program in China. Full-time, part-time, and visiting professor applicants are invited to apply for appointments of a semester or longer.

Thomas University holds approval by the Chinese Central Government to deliver a cooperative program for students at its partner university in China.
