Athletics

Head JV / Assistant Softball Coach

The successful candidate will be responsible for organization, administration, student-athlete recruitment and retention, coaching and practice planning (skill development and strategy), and fund raising for the JV Softball team, as well as assisting the Varsity coach in these same areas. Also other job duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred. Salary commensurate with experience, based on the Department scale.

University and Developmental Studies and International Student Advisor (ISA)

Faculty Position

This is a 12-month continuing faculty position which reports to the Division Chair of University and Developmental Studies.  Each semester/term (Fall, Spring, Summer) the instructor will teach UNV and/or Developmental Studies courses and provide professional tutoring in the Academic Resource Center.  As International Student Advisor, the instructor will devote approximately 10 hours per week to assisting with the International Student Admissions process and to academic advising responsibilities.

The position requires the following:  a master’s degree in English, Math, Education, or related field; proven excellence in teaching and advising (minimum 2 years); adept use of instructional/online technology; experience working with international students.

Rank and salary commensurate with experience; includes benefits.

THOMAS CHINA PROGRAMS

Faculty Positions in Nursing

Thomas China Programs is seeking faculty to teach in our innovative RN-BSN programs in China beginning Fall semester 2013. Full-time, part-time, and visiting professor applicants are invited to apply for appointments of a semester or longer.

Thomas University holds approval by the Chinese Central Government to deliver a cooperative program for students at the following Chinese partner universities to earn TU’s RN-BSN in China: Wenzhou Medical College (Zhejiang Province), Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Jiangxi Province), and Inner Mongolia University for the Nationalities (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).

Division of Math and Science

Biology Faculty Member

The Division of Math and Science at Thomas University is seeking a faculty member to teach and advise students in our Biology program beginning Fall semester 2013. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative, collegial work relationships in an environment dedicated to student engagement in learning.

Courses to be taught could include general biology, botany, zoology, ecology, evolution, and conservation biology.  Proven excellence in teaching undergraduate general education and Biology majors is required.  Candidate should be adept in the practice of instructional/online technology and pedagogy.  The best candidate seeks engaged teaching in a Biology program that blends online and face-to-face teaching and learning with field practice.

Assistant Professor of Medical Laboratory Science

The Medical Laboratory Science Program at Thomas University invites applications for a full-time, 12- month faculty position available May 2013. The MLS program offers both a traditional and 2+2 route. Campus-based, hybrid, and online courses are part of the curriculum. Applicants must have a master’s degree, earned doctorate preferred; national certification as a MLS generalist required; and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Proven excellence in teaching and in the use of instructional/online technology and its pedagogy is required. The candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include lecture and lab components in Medical Laboratory Science areas to be determined in consultation with the program director. Division of Counseling

Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling

The Division of Counseling and Psychology is seeking applicants for a full-time continuing campus-based faculty position.  The chosen applicant will teach and advise students in the fully-online Master of Science in CORE-accredited Rehabilitation Counseling and Master of Science in Community Counseling programs with over 100 students beginning fall semester 2013.  The master’s programs involve dynamic interaction with students in the online and clinical internship environments.  This is a campus-based faculty position with online teaching assignments.

In addition to teaching and advising responsibilities, full-time faculty members also serve on division and university committees, support the community through professional engagement, collaborate on grant opportunities, and engage in scholarly professional development.

Proven excellence in teaching is required. Candidates must be adept in the use of instructional/online technology.  Teaching strengths in Rehabilitation Counseling subjects such as Medical and Psychological Aspects of Disabilities and Testing and Assessment are required.

A doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling and CRC certification are required.  Thomas University is committed to diversity and invites all qualified candidates to apply.
