Division of Nursing

Nursing Faculty position (full time)

The Division of Nursing at Thomas University is seeking a full-time (9-month) faculty member to teach in our RN-BSN, RN-MSN, MSN, and MSN-MBA dual degree programs. Our highly respected nursing programs use a dynamic combination of online and traditional teaching / learning strategies for course delivery; therefore, applicants must be adept in the use of instructional technology.  Hybrid or online teaching experience is strongly preferred. 

A Master’s degree in Nursing and licensure in Georgia as a Registered Nurse are required.  Doctorate in Nursing or related field is strongly preferred.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, full-time faculty members also serve on Division and University committees, support the community through professional engagement, and collaborate on research and grant opportunities.

The Medical Laboratory Science Program at Thomas University invites applications for a full-time, 12- month faculty position available August 2012. Applicants must have a master’s degree, earned doctorate preferred; national certification as a MLS generalist required; and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Proven excellence in teaching and in the use of instructional/online technology and its pedagogy is required. The candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include lecture and lab components in CLS areas to be determined in consultation with the program director.

Graduate Assistant – Residence Hall Director - 2 Positions

Thomas University is seeking nominations and applications for a full-time/live-in graduate assistant to serve as a Residence Hall Director to begin in July 2012.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of a 70-student Residence Hall and shall report to the Director of Student Life.

Position Responsibilities

The Residence Hall Director (RHD) is the live-in manager of a collegiate, co-educational residence hall.  The RHD shall direct residence hall operations; monitor the conduct of residence hall students while enforcing University policies and procedures; maintain accurate records; conduct necessary facility inspections; plan and present a diverse calendar of activities; and supervise a four-member student staff.

Minimum Position Requirements

The successful candidate shall possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and be working towards their advanced degree.   Hiring preference will be given to those candidates with previous collegiate housing experience.

Compensation

The RHD shall receive a $600.00 monthly stipend; on-campus housing will be provided; tuition waiver for graduate studies at Thomas University.

Work Schedule

The RHD will maintain regularly scheduled office hours to include evening and weekend hours.  The RHD is also responsible for on-call duty as events and needs warrant.

The Division of Math and Science at Thomas University is seeking a faculty member to teach and advise students in Biology programs beginning Fall semester 2012. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative, collegial work relationships in a university environment that fosters students’ personal transformation and professional readiness. 

A doctorate in Biology is preferred. The best candidate has a minimum of two years teaching experience and could teach General Biology (majors and non-majors), Anatomy and Physiology, Cell and Molecular Physiology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biochemistry; additional graduate preparation in Chemistry is preferred.  Proven excellence in teaching undergraduate general education and Biology majors is required.
